Kripalu - means 'being compassionate' in Sanskrit, the language of yoga tradition

For Regular Kripalu All Levels Classes & Yin Yoga Classes

If you have a mat, please bring one - but I always bring extra mats. Bring a blanket as well, and a water bottle - best to come on an empty stomach if you can.

If you would like to register let me know and I will email you the registration. If you just want to drop in and get a feel for the class there is no pressure to 'sign' up. It's always a bit cheaper to sign up rather than come on a drop-in basis. A full 10 week session is $110.  Drop-ins are $13.   If you sign up for the 10 weeks and need to miss a class, you can do a 'make-up' at one of my other classes during your 10 week session.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is for everyone who wants to try yoga but is worried about getting up and down from the mat.  Colleen's gentle guidance encourages the students permission to go at their own pace.  Chair Yoga adapts to the needs and abilities of the students.  Chair yoga provides safety while offering a full range of movements for joints and muscles.  Students with MS, Parkinsons, challenges with hips or knees...., all benefit from the stretches, core work, breathing exercises, and laughter that is part of the Chair Yoga program!

Yin Yoga     "Yin is In!"

Colleen has Yin Yoga Teacher training with Sarah Powers and more recently with Bernie Clark.  She weaves Yin Yoga into all of her regular Hatha classes. Yin Yoga is a great class for new and beginner students to increase flexibility and calm the nervous system.  Yin is a perfect balance to the more active or vigorous lifestyles and is ideal to practice through out pregnancy.  Advanced students will love the healing therapeutic qualities of a Yin class. No experience necessary. This practice focuses on yielding and surrendering to gravity. Passive stretching, poses held for up to five minutes. No, this is not siesta time… The poses are held in a space of vigilance. Passive stretching aims to get deep into the body – the bones and ligaments as opposed to more superficial soft tissue. The practice can be quite challenging as well as very gentle, depending on where you want to go – many options, props, alternatives.    Click schedule/calender for more details on location and times.   Bring your mat and any props you have, for example a blanket, blocks or straps or bolsters.  These props are available at the studio as well.

Restorative Yoga

Colleen incorporates her Restorative Yoga training into all of her regular Hatha classes.  Restorative Yoga helps us to relax and rest deeply, and helps relieve the effects of chronic stress.  If you are suffering from 'burnout', anxiety, depression, or just can't get off that crazy busy life treadmill, come experience the benefits of Kripalu Hatha Yoga intertwined with Restorative Yoga.

For Let Your Yoga Dance Classes

If you have a mat, please bring one - but I always bring extra mats just in case.  Bring a blanket as well, and a water bottle - best to come on an empty stomach if you can.  Dancing is generally barefoot, but if you need orthotics feel free to bring them as long as they are 'indoor' shoes.
